Lorraine lives in a coastal region of Victoria with a lake nearby that provides an abundance of inspiration. Working from her own photographs taken locally, Lorraine digitally transforms her design which then becomes her pattern. Using a wide variety of fabrics from silks, home dyed cottons to recycled clothing gives a richness to her work. Most of Lorraine’s textile art is raw edge applique consisting of many layers. Dabbling in watercolour painting over the years has helped her to develop a better understanding of colour, depth and light in her work.
