I started quilting back in 2001 when I saw at an exhibition, that quilts were not just used on beds. It was love at first sight when I saw what art could be done with textiles. I tried many techniques using many of the skills from past experiences making wedding dresses and solo dance costumes.
I have always loved Australian Native Flowers and take many photos where ever I am. It was a natural progression for me to put them in my work. Currently I am working on the 12th quilt in my series, most made using my 3D Baglique technique, where flowers are made to stand alone before deciding how to arrange them.
My flowers are heavily hand stitched to give lots of texture.
